eCommerce Translation

Translate your eCommerce website or product range, in order to attract international orders.

If you are planning to trade in different countries as part of an international eCommerce development, then eCommerce Translation will become crucial.

There are two stages of translation; that for the sub-eCommerce (See: International eCommerce Development) and that for your products.

Sub-eCommerce Translation

If you require a sub-eCommerce in an alternative language then we can instruct a 3rd party translation-service company to assist with the overall design and content translation of the project. This is a relatively simple process and is priced according to the languages that you require and the number of static pages.

This process is also (generally) very quick and inexpensive, because the sub-eCommerce will be a duplication of a master website and therefore depends on how many non-product/category pages that you have in your system.

eCommerce Product Translation

Product translation can be performed using either of the two methods:

Automatic Translation

Automatic Translation allows products in your master website to be automatically translated, using a software translator and displayed in the relevant sub-eCommerce.

Translation is performed in real-time and is cheap to setup in comparison to manual translation.

Automatic translation, however, has massive room for inaccuracies and can sometimes be unreliable. This is due to local dialect, spelling mistakes, brand names, context and many other factors that affect translation.

Manual Translation

Manual Translation allows your eCommerce website to support multiple languages on a per-product basis. Products can be manually translated and then fed through to your sub-eCommerce(s).

Therefore, if a product has not been translated, it will not show in the relevant sub-eCommerce.

Manual Translation can be a time consuming process, depending on how many products/categories that you have, the size of your product descriptions and the languages that you require.

Manual Translation is by far the most professional method of translating your website.

At OnTop eCommerce we have many recommended translation-service companies and we can help with organising the translations, as well as implementing them into your eCommerce website.
