Mobile Phone Recycling Development
Choose a successful and easy to manage recycling system
We are industry leaders in Mobile Phone Recycling development and have produced many successful recycling systems that are generating large sales revenues for our clients.
Our Mobile Phone Recycling clients are some of the most successful in the industry and have been dominating the internet for the last few years. Many are enjoying this success internationally across multiple countries simultaneously, trading over £50k worth of phones per day through our software.
How Can OnTop Help You?
Our team of web developers are versed in creating complex bespoke recycling websites; we also support the following features:
- Recycle Trade-In System Development and Design.
- Automatic Barcode generation for easy order management and order processing.
- Simply scan the barcode to mark a phone as received.
- Simply scan the barcode to mark an order as paid.
- Scanning a barcode can automatically trigger an email and/or sms text message to inform the customer.
- IMEI support with the ability to search for an order by IMEI number.
- Checkmend integration to check for stolen phones (UK only).
- Bespoke customer emails designed with your companies branding and colours (for reminders and payments).
- Automatic mobile phone price comparison integration; list all your phones on price comparison sites with up-to-date pricing information and company details. (Onbay, SellMyMobile, etc.).
- Support for different condition phones e.g. working, non-working, brand new.
- The ability to easily change order details including prices, phone models, etc. Allowing you to correct customer mistakes and alter orders as you require.
- Automatic SMS notifications, allowing you to keep the customer informed as to the current status of their order, as it goes through each stage (from order placed all the way to payment made to customer, after phone received).
- Ability to Batch Print All Required Orders matching a Current Order Status, and notify the customer automatically, significantly reducing daily administration.
- When phones have not been received, automatic reminders will be sent to the customer after 7 and 14 days. These can be by email and/or SMS text message.
- BACS and Cheque Reports by Order status or date range which can be printed or automatically fed into banking software to issue cheques or initiate payments by bank transfer.
We can also create a "Handset Prices Upload" function, which is an easy management tool to update phones by Excel Feed. This enables you to list all of your items in a single document, to easily alter the prices regularly and then upload the file into the admin system; it will then update your website with the new prices. It significantly reduces time by allowing you to alter multiple phones very quickly, rather than one at a time through the administration console.
The Recycling Methods
We recommend using one of the following two methods for creating an effective mobile phone recycling business. Although having a barcode system included is an optional feature, it dramatically speeds up administration, allows you to manage your orders more efficiently and even increases conversions if used as per Method 1.
The Jiffy Bag Method
1. Order Placed & Email Sent
An order is placed by a customer online and an email notification is sent to the customer confirming their welcome pack will be received shortly.2. Print Info & Send Welcome Pack
A Letter & Barcode can be printed from the admin panel. Place the welcome letter and barcode into the jiffy bag and send to the customer.3. Customer Receives Welcome Pack
When the customer receives the pack, they simply place the item for recycling into the jiffy bag, stick the barcode sticker on the front and send it back.4. Returned Pack is Received
On receipt, the administrator only has to scan the barcode so the system can find the order and automatically email the customer to notify them.5. Administrator Checks The Item
When you are happy with the item returned, simply scan the barcode again, and the system will notify the customer of a pending payment.6. Pay The Customer
On scanning the barcode in the previous step, the system will process an automatic payment for the customer by either BACS or cheque.Benefits
- Reduces administration from 4 to 1 person per 100 handsets, on average, per day, due to barcode integration.
- Generally increases conversions by 52% compared to expecting the customer to do all of the hard work.
- Generally increases speed of the conversion by 7-10 days because the customers have everything they need.
- If paying postage for them to return the pack, this also increases conversions by a further 72%.
Drawbacks
- Costs you to send out the welcome pack.
Self-Post Method
1. Customer Places Order
The customer finds their item on your website using the browse or search function, and places their order online.2. Email Confirmation Sent
The system sends them a confirmation letter for the customer to print out which includes a barcode.3. Customer Posts Item
The customer will need to include the confirmation letter with barcode on, with the item when posting it.4. Item is Received
On receipt, scan the barcode, the system will find the order and email the customer to let them know it has been received.5. Check Received Item
When you are happy with the item, scan barcode again, and the system will notify customer of pending payment.6. Pay Customer
Enter the admin panel of your recycling system and pay your customer the agreed amount via their chosen method. Our barcode system is a very powerful feature; although optional, by using our automated barcode system, you will significantly reduce time and labour costs associated with receiving goods.
It will also considerably reduce room for mistakes by eliminating the risk of human error, and ensuring a consistent level of customer service is given to all your customers.
Benefits
- Most cost effective option on a per order basis, as no welcome packs to print and send.
- Reduces administration from 4 to 1 person per 100 deliveries, on average, per day, due to barcode integration.
Drawbacks
- Relies on email.
- Relies on the user having a printer.
- Relies on the users posting the parcel (obtaining appropriate container, etc.).
- Generally 52% lower conversion as competitors will adopt Method 1, and arrange for a parcel to arrive for them which is more convenient for the customer.
